Nicki Combarro MSc MCSP

Nicki qualified from the University of Hertfordshire in 1996 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. She then worked for the NHS for the following five years focusing on Musculoskeletal physiotherapy. This included outpatient clinics, orthopaedic wards, specialist hand unit, hydrotherapy and rehabilitation classes.

After completing her MSc in Sports Injuries in 2002 Nicki left the NHS and went to work for the MOD at RAF Halton for 3 years. This stint as a civilian physiotherapist working in the Military demonstrated to be an invaluable learning curve and allowed her to further expand her physiotherapy treatment and rehabilitation repertoire.

Alongside these full time commitments Nicki has been working with English Hockey since 1997 providing physiotherapy support through training and competition, to a variety of the National Age group squads and the English Mens team. Working with the National squads has also facilitated a lot of travel to Europe, Poland, Malaysia and South Africa.

Bodybalance Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic was established by Nicki in 1999 and was initially a part time venture alongside her additional work commitments. With the move to the new Hertfordshire Sports Village  facilitites in August 2003 the clinic hours have expanded to meet the new demands.

Currently in addition to the Bodybalance Physiotherapy Clinic Nicki is also a Consultant Physiotherapist for the English Institute of Sport treating Elite International athletes based at Milton Keynes National Badminton Centre.

Over the past 8 years Nicki has also been involved with multisport events such as the European Youth Olympic Games, Murcia 2001, Commonwealth Games, Manchester 2002, World University Games in South Korea 2003 and Turkey 2005.

More recently Nicki attended the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne supporting the English National Badminton Team to multiple medal success.

Nicki is a Gold Accredited Member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Sports Medicine - an Internationally recognised specialised group of Physiotherapists working in Sport.
